Etsy Has Banned the Sale of Witchcraft and Witches Are Pissed

Your online marketplace for everything from #merica shirts to Snooki’s grammatically incorrect glassware was, until recently, also a place where you could buy a magic crystal, a sex spell, or a curse to cast on that douchebag who spilled a drink on your new Alexander Wang Marta boots. But not anymore, according to Etsy’s new rules and regulations.

Formerly, magick was allowed for sale on the site provided a) the seller didn’t guarantee results and b) it came with something tangible, like a PDF or PowerPoint presentation CD. The new rule states that “any metaphysical service that promises or suggests it will effect a physical change (e.g., weight loss) or other outcome (e.g., love, revenge) is not allowed, even if it delivers a tangible item.”

Unsurprisingly, the wiccans peddling these things are PISSED.
