Mothman “Reappears” Coincidentally Close To The 50th Anniversary Date


A man driving along State Route 2 in West Virginia near Point Pleasant, legendary home of the bad omen, Mothman, says he captured pictures of the creature.

He said he stopped when he saw something jumping from tree to tree and was able to snap a few pictures in the dusk.

Really? He stopped to photograph this, called it into the news station and wasn’t aware of the most famous thing about Point Pleasant? The Mothman festival took place in September and November 12th was the 50th anniversary of the first sighting in 1966 when some men digging a grave saw a figure overhead. Then, the huge story erupted when several people claimed to have had a face to face encounter with the creature while in their car. There is a Mothman museum and a garish, hard to miss statue in the town. Let’s just say I’m doubtful of his story that he knew nothing of the legend.
