A vicar whose passion for cricket has not been dimmed by the fact he
died more than a century ago has been pictured floating about near his
old cricket club in a top hat and coat.
Bearded man of God Reverend Edward Roberts was a constant presence at the Birmingham club before and after his death in 1891 – but the new image is the first time the undead cricket fan has been caught on camera.
Spooked groundskeeper, Trevor Townsend, 66, captured the image of the ghostly cricket fan, who has an unmistakable long, white beard, top hat and long coat.
