Crisis Apparitions: Are They Really Ghosts?

We’ve all heard stories about the apparition of a loved one appearing at the time of death or shortly afterward. Most people assume these are the spirits of the recently deceased stopping by to say goodbye or to let loved ones know they are still alive in the spiritual realm. In the paranormal field, these apparitions are called crisis apparitions. They typically occur within 12 hours of death, but may also occur when a loved one is in pain or experiencing some other crisis.

Some experts believe that at the time of death, a person is able to project an image telepathically to remote areas. While the image looks like the dying loved one and may even bring a message only the loved one could know, the person isn’t really there. The image is simply a telepathic projection.
