The Mothman Festival brings out lovers of the paranormal and it also brings back the “seemingly” dead, namely the State Theater.
Of course, the old theater isn’t literally dead though it has been closed for some time now. However, the Mothman Festival will breathe new life into the historic structure by holding film screenings and hosting guest speakers throughout this weekend, reminding those new and old alike to Point Pleasant of the potential of the theater.
This year, the State Theater’s marquee will light up Main Street once again starting this Friday for a Mothman “kick starter” event when the documentary “Eyes of [the] Mothman” which was filmed in Mason County, will be shown at 8 p.m. Admission is free and concessions will be available for purchase.
